Kim has over 30 years of counselling experience. She brings both passion and extensive knowledge in agricultural mental health. Over the past twenty years Kim has counselled hundreds of farm families while working at the Manitoba Farm, Rural and Northern Support Services. She owns and operates her own counselling service specializing in farm and rural issues. In her role as a Farm Wellness Consultant, Kim enjoys delivering presentations and workshops throughout the agriculture industry. She has been a lead facilitator for the University of Guelph ‘In the Know’ mental health literacy trainings. Having delivered forty workshops across Canada to producers and ag industry people, Kim understands the culture of farming and the people who grow our food. Growing up on a small mixed farm in southwestern Manitoba, Kim got to experience all that farm life has to offer. Years of proudly plucking chickens helped pay her way through university! Located in Strathclair Manitoba where she and her partner farmed for several years both in cereals and cattle. She understands intimately the demands placed on our farm families and seeks to offer support and understanding.
